Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise is an award-winning documentary about the cultural icon, Thelma & Louise, the famous duo played by Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. How did that film impact the audience? Why was it so controversial? What did critics have to say about gender politics? Has anything changed in the way women are treated by the world?

The documentary answers these questions, and more, in the most authentic, powerful, and unexpected ways: through intimate stories shared by the women and men who responded to a survey when the film was released. Twenty-five years later, they were located around the country to compare past to present reactions. Their responses are fascinating and illuminating; poignant, as well as humorous.

Over the years, Thelma and Louise have become ‘larger than life.’ They are seen as women who break out of lives of bleak existence and, ultimately, learn to take matters into their own hands. They symbolize female friendship and empowerment. Both Thelma and Louise were victims of sexual assault. It is only fitting that they take this opportunity to support #SAAM.
